Motorised Roller Blinds are becoming a more common choice in todays modern home.  But why should you consider motorising your blinds:
  1. Ease and Convenience - Motorised blinds add a level of ease and convenience with the touch of a single button. Your entire house can be synced to a single remote control to open and close your interior blinds.
  2. Energy Savings - With the advance motorised control you can now have your blinds close/open at predetermined times or temperatures. So this can reduce the energy costs
  3. Child Safety - With popularity of roller blinds, there are many more cords  hanging from windows, even with modern child locks these still can provide ligature points.  Motorised blinds removes these hazards from todays home.
We can motorise any type of blind from traditional roller blinds, vertical blinds, roman blinds and curtains and plantation shutters.  You can also motorise outdoor blinds from awnings to folding arms.  You can also control your blinds from your phone to add additional flexibility.

We support both 12v motors and 240v systems with full details of our motorised options available on our web site at Motorised Blinds & Curtains

Security Doors and Windows

There are a number of security doors and window products in the market today.  The two relevant Australian standards for security doors and windows are AS5039 and AS5041.  These two standards deal with  the construction and penetration tests the doors must adhere too.  Some manufactures meet these standards other exceed these standards.  The good doors are all manufactured with a Stainless Steel mesh product which is made from 316 grade stainless steel.  The other advantages of those doors which exceed the standards are they are likely to also able to be used in BAL-40 rated areas as window covering to cover you in the event of a bush fire.

The main areas of interest in these standards are:

Test Result                       Anti Jemmy        Knife Shear      Pull Test             Probe test
                                           Test                      Shear Test

·       Hinged Door      Pass                    Pass                    Pass                    Pass

·       Sliding Door       Pass                    Pass                   Pass                     Pass

·       Fixed Window   Pass                    Pass                   Pass                     Pass

The final area of concern is how are the doors and windows installed the relevant standard in this regard is AS5040.
The areas of interest are:
  • the space between the security door and the striker plate should not exceed 3mm.
  • All visible screws should anti tamper.
  • All screws used to install the screens should be the appropriate lengths to support the standard
